Mabera TVC is a public post-secondary institution located in Kuria West Constituency, Migori County, approximately 15.7 kilometres from Migori Town and strategically positioned off the Migori–Sirare highway, near the Kenya–Tanzania border. The College was established under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Act, 2013, a statute that provides the legal framework for the regulation and coordination of TVET institutions in Kenya.MTVC was gazetted through Legal Notice No. 0011/2019, which designated it as a Centre of Excellence in Hospitality. The institution was officially inaugurated in 2019 by the then Deputy President, Dr. William Samoei Ruto, marking a significant step in expanding access to vocational education in the region. Initially offering six diploma programs, six certificate courses, and two artisan programs, the College has since expanded its curriculum to accommodate diverse training needs aligned with national development priorities and market demand.The College operates in accordance with the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, particularly Article 43(1)(f), which affirms the right to education, and Article 55, which mandates the state to promote youth access to education and training. Additionally, the College aligns with the TVET Act, 2013, which mandates it to provide relevant technical education, conduct applied research, foster innovation, and contribute to national human capital development.
